HaMasila Center for Culture and Community in Herzliya is a resident-initiated cultural hub built on a narrow site alongside the railway, designed through close collaboration with the neighborhood. Conceived as the shared heart of a low-rise residential area, the center supports a wide range of cultural, artistic, and community activities.

The building organizes a diverse mix of spaces along its length, including a neighborhood café, performance and rehearsal halls, creative spaces for all ages, outdoor sports areas, and a publicly accessible activity roof. Together, these elements create an active civic platform that connects local residents with the wider metropolitan movement of the Ayalon Highway and the railway.

Its distinctive stone-and-steel façade acts as a dynamic filter—responding to motion, sunlight, and program—while allowing the building to glow softly from within at night. Inside, a warm palette of stone, metal, concrete, and wood creates open, inviting spaces.

Rooted in the neighborhood yet addressing the metropolitan edge, HaMasila Center strengthens community identity and demonstrates the power of architecture to foster encounter, culture, and shared civic life.
