Ben Gurion University Convention Center

Inspired by the traditional Bedouin tent which for centuries offers a variety of changing spaces on a shaded horizontal continuum, the new center will facilitate the University's most important events, but just as important will be the relationship between the building and the students when it is not active. The large envelope delimiting the building allows for a great wealth of activities, formally or spontaneously, through a sequence of exterior and interior spaces of variable quality and scale that are related to each other and feed each other, in a way that expands the circle of users of the building to the general public and will turn it into a new urban icon.
